New Patent Filing Assigned to Magistrate Judge Hillman

In a straightforward complaint Webstone Co. (Worcester, MA) has brought suit against Red-White Valve USA (Lake Forest, CA) and Vir Valvo Industria (Valduggia, Italy) for infringement of Patent Nos. 7,621,295 and 7,631,662 directed to a valve and system for controlling fluid flow to an appliance.

 

Interestingly, the case was assigned directly to Magistrate Judge Timothy Hillman in Worcester.  This may be as a result of a program in D. Mass. to randomly assign certain civil cases to Magistrate Judges (see http://www.mad.uscourts.gov/caseinfo/pdf/general/09-3%20Order.pdf) though I had thought that program was limited to cases filed in Boston.
