An artist in Cambridge has sued a New York resident (formerly from Cambridge) for copying images the artist posted on his LiveJournal blog. The defendant is accused of reposting the images on Photobucket and Encyclopedia Dramatica. Plaintiff successfully issued a takedown notice to Photobucket. Defendant challenged the takedown to Encyclopedia Dramatica with a counter notification that Plaintiff alleges is deliberately false.
As we’re seeing more and more, the complaint alleges that the Plaintiff “duly registered or submitted an application” for all subject works. No specific registration numbers or dates for application are provided.
