Astrolabe, Inc. (Brewster, MA) has sued two individuals (Takoma Park, MD and Los Angeles, CA) for copyright infringement related to time zone atlas software. The complaint alleges that the two individuals (one employed by the NIH, the other by UCLA) have made unauthorized reproductions of the copyrighted software available over the Internet. The complaint alleges that the individuals have asserted that the data taken from the software is in the public domain. The complaint does not allege that the software is registered.
