Judicial Philosophy
Judge Zobel is a focused, direct judge. As is true with most judges, she prefers when attorneys go directly to the heart of an issue rather than spending time on tangentials. Though she will entertain discussion on topics that may not appear critical to her at first if the importance of the issue is properly presented by counsel. She has little patience for discovery disputes, which are often handled by a Magistrate Judge.
Intellectual Property Cases
Judge Zobel is an experienced IP judge. She has handled a wide variety of intellectual property cases during her time on the bench. She sat by designation with the Federal Circuit in April 2008.
